PREPARING
YOUR SONG.
Follow this checklist before submitting. Files prepped right means faster turnaround and a better result on the first round.
- 01Bounce stems at 24-bit WAV, 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz — every individual track separately
- 02Each stem starts at sample 0 — line them up perfectly in a DAW
- 03Leave 6 dB of headroom per stem — peak no higher than -6 dBFS
- 04Include EVERY layer: kick, snare, hats, percussion, bass layers, synth layers, vocal layers, ad-libs, FX, transitions
- 05Optionally: dry vocal stems (no effects) AND processed vocal stems (with reverb / delay you want kept)
- 06Reference tracks (3–5 commercial songs in the target sound) + project notes
- 07If you have rough mix decisions you love, send a stereo bounce of your rough mix as reference

Mixing is where most producers leak quality. You spent months arranging and you're emotionally too close to the song to make the surgical decisions a mix needs: which vocal take goes loudest, what to cut from the low mids, when to let the bass breathe.
I bring 10 years of mixing and mastering experience — and the same ears that put 50M+ streams of Charlie Crown out into the world — to your stems.
You get back: a mixed, mastered, release-ready record. Plus the full Charlie Crown deliverables package: WAV, MP3, instrumental, acapella, mastered stems, your raw mix session if you want it.

What counts as a stem?
Each individual track from your DAW. Kick = 1 stem. Snare = 1 stem. Hi-hats = 1 stem. Drum bus combining all three = 1 stem (but I'd rather have them separate). Lead vocal = 1 stem. Vocal harmonies = 1 stem. Count everything that's its own audio file.
I'm not sure which tier I need.
Count your tracks in your DAW. If you're between tiers, round up — extra capacity gives me room to do the job right without rushing. Or message me before booking with your stem count and genre and I'll tell you exactly which tier.
Can I send a rough mix as reference?
Yes, and please do. A stereo bounce of your rough mix tells me exactly what you were going for — what you love, what you want kept. It's the fastest way to a first-round mix that lands close to your vision.
Do you need MIDI or session files?
No. Stems only. Audio files. I don't need your Ableton or Logic project — I rebuild the mix in my own session using your stems.
How many revisions do I get?
Unlimited on both the mix and the master. Most clients land at 1–2 mix revisions and 0–1 master revisions because the onboarding call locks the brief upfront.
What's the turnaround?
4–5 business days for first-round delivery. Revisions typically 1–2 business days each.
Can I get just the mix without mastering?
Bundled service — they go together. The benefit of one person mixing + mastering is the master is built knowing exactly what the mix is doing. Separating them loses that.
How do I send files?
After payment you'll get an intake form. Zip your stem folder, upload to Dropbox or Drive, paste the share link. No file size limits.
Refund policy?
If after the first round + one revision you're not happy, full refund. The Charlie Crown ears + chain + 4–5 day turnaround + unlimited revisions guarantee means we work until it's right.
