Follow this checklist before submitting. Files prepped right means faster turnaround and a better result on the first round.
- 01Bounce every vocal track separately: lead, doubles, harmonies, ad-libs, backing vocals
- 0224-bit WAV, 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz
- 03Each vocal stem from sample 0 — line them up exactly in a DAW
- 04Leave 6 dB of headroom per vocal — no peak above -6 dBFS
- 05Include the FINAL instrumental as a stereo bounce (mastered or unmastered — let me know which)
- 06Mark which vocal take is the lead if you have multiple options
- 07Reference tracks (1–3 commercial songs with the vocal energy + sound you want)
05 / Why Charlie
THE WORK
BEHIND THE NAME.
The vocals are the song. The instrumental supports them. If the vocals aren't sitting right, the song doesn't work — and most producers don't have the dedicated experience that pro vocal engineers do.
I've mixed thousands of vocal takes. For Charlie Crown releases, for collaborators, for artists who came to me with raw multitrack vocals and a finished beat.
You send me your raw vocal stems (lead, harmonies, ad-libs, doubles, all of it) plus a stereo bounce of your instrumental. I do the full vocal production: timing, tuning, level-matching, comping, compression, EQ, saturation, de-essing, reverb, delay, automation, FX placement.
You get back a stereo mix of the vocal + instrumental, plus the dry vocal stems mixed and processed in case you want to swap the instrumental later.
Best for: artists with a finished instrumental who want a vocal mix that sounds like a label release.
06 / FAQ
QUESTIONS
ANSWERED.
What's the difference vs Full Mix + Master?
Vocal mixing assumes your instrumental is finished and you just need pro vocal production on top. Full Mix + Master means I'm mixing the entire song from raw stems including the instrumental.
What about tuning — Auto-Tune, Melodyne, manual?
Whatever the song calls for. Pop-style transparent tuning, Auto-Tune effect, manual Melodyne for natural performances — I match the production. Mention your preference in the intake or we'll talk through it on the onboarding call.
Can I send vocals only without an instrumental?
If you want just dry vocals processed (no mixing into a beat), yes — mention that in the intake. Same price, simpler delivery (processed vocals only, no stereo mix).
How many vocal tracks can I send?
Any number. I've mixed records with 4 vocal tracks and records with 60. Price is the same — I scale my time to the project.
How long does it take?
4–5 business days for first-round delivery. Revisions 1–2 days each.
How do I send files?
Intake form after payment. Upload vocal stems + instrumental to Dropbox or Drive, paste the share link.
Refund policy?
If after the first round + one revision you're not happy, full refund.
